Hans and Paula Steger, together with the widow Wiesinger, took over the former Dellai mountain refuge – now known as Hotel Steger-Dellai. Their portraits still hang above our bar counter to this day.

The childless couple founded the “Hans and Paula Steger Foundation”, a non-profit organization that has managed their entire estate – including this alpine hut – ever since.

My grandfather, Karl Lageder, opened the Laranzer Schwaige.

I grew up on a mountain hut myself – at the Ciadianat Hut in Selva/Wolkenstein – and in 2025 I was fortunate to follow in his footsteps.
