Recommended hikes to the Laranzer Schwaige

1. Hans und Paula Steger Trail

From the mountain station, the Hans and Paula Steger Trail No. 30 leads from Compatsch behind the Franciscan Church across alpine meadows and through light forests. The trail passes Hotel Steger-Dellai and continues to breathtaking viewpoints with stunning panoramas of the Langkofel and Plattkofel peaks. Once you reach Wiednereck – where you’ll also find a bus stop for the return trip – turn right onto Trail No. 12A, and you’ll soon arrive at the beautifully located Laranzer Schwaige.

2. Panorama Hike to the Laranzer Schwaige

Starting point: Compatsch – Seiser Alm cable car mountain station
Duration: 2 hours

Start at the Seiser Alm cable car mountain station. From there, follow Trail No. 7, passing the Edelweiss Hut to reach the Almrosen Hut. From there, continue left on a gently descending path. After approx. 500 m, turn onto Trail No. 12A and reach the Laranzer Schwaige.

3. From the St. Ulrich Cable Car to the Laranzer Schwaige

Starting point: Bergstation Umlaufbahn St. Ulrich - Seiser Alm
Duration: 1.5 hours

From the mountain station, follow Trail No. 6 past the Conrin Hut toward Compatsch. After approx. 45 minutes, you’ll reach the junction at Hotel Ritsch. Turn left, pass Hotel Ritsch, and walk through a small forest section, where you’ll reach a clearing with a stunning panoramic view. Then turn right onto Trail No. 12A and shortly arrive at the Laranzer Schwaige.
